[Goodbye?] LulzSec //Laughing at your security since 2011!

LulzSec, they came, they saw, and caused trouble.  Their cyber-mischief I'm sure scared many corporations. Hopefully opened some eyes! LulzSec is not the first and they surly won't be the last. We can't allow groups to bring down networks\systems and share sensitive information.  Companies need to increase their information security to protect users\data and their systems. As this generation becomes the most tech savvy generation, we need to ensure we can protect our systems.

In LulzSec farewell letter (See below) they stated "If anything, we hope we had a microscopic impact on someone, somewhere. Anywhere." I think they did, or at least I hope they did. I would say goodbye, but I don't think this is the last of them.

Stay safe my friends,

-EK

Friends around the globe,

We are Lulz Security, and this is our final release, as today marks something meaningful to us. 50 days ago, we set sail with our humble ship on an uneasy and brutal ocean: the Internet. The hate machine, the love machine, the machine powered by many machines. We are all part of it, helping it grow, and helping it grow on us.

For the past 50 days we've been disrupting and exposing corporations, governments, often the general population itself, and quite possibly everything in between, just because we could. All to selflessly entertain others - vanity, fame, recognition, all of these things are shadowed by our desire for that which we all love. The raw, uninterrupted, chaotic thrill of entertainment and anarchy. It's what we all crave, even the seemingly lifeless politicians and emotionless, middle-aged self-titled failures. You are not failures. You have not blown away. You can get what you want and you are worth having it, believe in yourself.

While we are responsible for everything that The Lulz Boat is, we are not tied to this identity permanently. Behind this jolly visage of rainbows and top hats, we are people. People with a preference for music, a preference for food; we have varying taste in clothes and television, we are just like you. Even Hitler and Osama Bin Laden had these unique variations and style, and isn't that interesting to know? The mediocre painter turned supervillain liked cats more than we did.

Again, behind the mask, behind the insanity and mayhem, we truly believe in the AntiSec movement. We believe in it so strongly that we brought it back, much to the dismay of those looking for more anarchic lulz. We hope, wish, even beg, that the movement manifests itself into a revolution that can continue on without us. The support we've gathered for it in such a short space of time is truly overwhelming, and not to mention humbling. Please don't stop. Together, united, we can stomp down our common oppressors and imbue ourselves with the power and freedom we deserve.

So with those last thoughts, it's time to say bon voyage. Our planned 50 day cruise has expired, and we must now sail into the distance, leaving behind - we hope - inspiration, fear, denial, happiness, approval, disapproval, mockery, embarrassment, thoughtfulness, jealousy, hate, even love. If anything, we hope we had a microscopic impact on someone, somewhere. Anywhere.

Thank you for sailing with us. The breeze is fresh and the sun is setting, so now we head for the horizon.

Let it flow...

Lulz Security - our crew of six wishes you a happy 2011, and a shout-out to all of our battlefleet members and supporters across the globe

Droid Bionic: Coming Summer 2011

So Motorola has one of the most anticipated Smartphone coming this Summer (11') since Apple introduced the iPhone (07’). The Bionic specs have change and at this point not really confirmed but in any case it's supposed to be top notch. From speed to screen size on a 4G LTE network, the Bionic is on everyone's wish list. With Verizon ready to charge by the GB people are eagerly waiting for any news. Motorola used Twitter to tell potential customers that it is slated to be released in the Summer but when? It was supposed to come out in the first quarter but was taken back to the design table to make changes. Most likely Motorola went back to the drawing board to compete with the iPhone 5 to be released later this year. In any case, many are ready for the phone and eagerly waiting for it. But if it doesn't come out soon (aka Summer), Motorola may lose out in the end.

Here is an image that surfaced on 6/11

Dear Verizon [Part 2]

First they cancel the New Every Two and now my Unlimited Data Plan! What else can they take from us? I need my data; it's all about the data! I can understand the change but it seems a little high 2GB for $30. Verizon also put out this Data Calculator to let you estimate how much you may need or use. After putting in what I would need, I better get the unlimited data plan (7.62GB/Month). I will sign up before they change the data plan and I understand why they need to do this but it just seems unfair to have a limit. I remember having AOL and had to worry about not going over my minutes. They did eventually have an unlimited plan!!

Overall I'm not mad at Verizon; I just hope they see our point of view too!

Dear Verizon

Dear Verizon,

The canceling of your  "New Every Two" saddens a long time customer like me! I have been a customer since I had a Beeper (Pager) with AirTouch. Now my Wife and I have had Verizon Wireless service for a while and enjoy the deal we get after our contract ends. Now our contract just ended and I can still take advantage of the offer, but what about two years from now? Do you think I will pay $1000 for two phones the next time? No way!! I hope you have a plan to subsidize my purchases or we will be going to another company. To take this away as new customers plan on coming over to you because you will be getting the Apple iPhone on your network shows the greed in the business world.

Companies continue to attract new customers but don't seem to care much for existing. Keep us loyal, and provides us deals too!

Thanks,

Current Customer
